2. Ash tray

   A wide tray that catches ash from the coals, with the bowl fitting at its centre.

3. Stem

   The sculpted stem that carries smoke from the bowl down to the base. The slender slit is the form's signature.

4. Purge valve

   Clears stale smoke from the base with a single breath out.

5. Downstem

   Carries smoke to the bottom of the base; the slots at its tip break it into fine bubbles for a smoother draw.

6. Collar

   The ring that seats the stem firmly on the base.

7. Base

   Where the smoke is filtered through water. The asymmetric teardrop, swelling towards the valve, is unique to Perla.

8. Hose and mouthpiece

   The path from the hose port to your hand. The mouthpiece shares the stem's colour and finish, in a wave-shaped form that fits the hand.
